As the nights draw in and the scent of mulled cider fills the air, there’s no better way to kick off the festive season than with a Christmas market — and in Somerset, we’re truly spoilt for choice. From traditional manor house fairs to buzzing town-centre celebrations, this year's festive markets are packed with handmade gifts, delicious seasonal treats, and a chance to support the incredible makers, bakers, growers and creatives who call the West Country home.

Here’s your guide to some of the best Somerset Christmas markets to visit in 2025.
Burrow Hill Cider Farm, Kingsbury Episcopi | 29th November | 11am–5pm
Tucked away in the heart of cider country, Burrow Hill’s Christmas Makers Market is a true celebration of creativity and craft. Expect a lovingly curated mix of local artisans, handmade gifts, and festive food – all set against the backdrop of a traditional Somerset cider farm. A magical day out with mulled cider in hand!

Castle Green, Taunton | 8 November | 29 November | 13 & 14 December
One of Somerset’s most popular markets is getting a festive makeover! Taunton Independent Market brings together an eclectic mix of traders — from artisan food producers to ceramicists, illustrators to eco-gift makers. With live music, street food, and a community feel, these festive dates are not to be missed. Ideal for finding meaningful gifts you won’t get anywhere else.
Italian Gardens, Weston-super-Mare | 3, 10 & 17 December
Weston’s Christmas Market brings festive cheer, twinkling lights, and plenty of treats. Expect handmade crafts, artisan goods, warming drinks, and a joyful family-friendly atmosphere right in the heart of the seaside town. A great reason to head to the coast this December.

Frome town centre | 2nd November & 7th December
A true celebration of independent makers and small businesses, the Frome Independent’s Christmas markets are always a highlight. Think stylish homewares, handmade jewellery, sustainable clothing, gourmet food and more — all in one of Somerset’s most creative towns. Come hungry, and bring a big bag.
Lytes Cary Manor, near Somerton | 22–23 November
Set within the grounds of a beautiful National Trust property, this two-day market is a wonderful way to support small businesses in a festive, historic setting. Shop handmade goods and local produce while exploring the stunning gardens and house, all dressed up for Christmas.

Bath city centre | 27 November – 14 December
Although technically just over the Somerset border, no list would be complete without this iconic festive favourite. Over 170 chalets line the Georgian streets of Bath, offering everything from hand-poured candles to artisan cheeses and woollen knits. With carol singers and fairy lights aplenty, it’s the full Christmas experience.
Langport | 6 December | from 10am to 6pm
Langport’s Christmas Market is more than just a festive shopping event — it’s a full evening of seasonal celebration! Expect local traders, handmade gifts, mulled wine, street food, and plenty of cheer along Bow Street and Parrett Close. As the sun sets, the whole town lights up for the Christmas lights switch-on, followed by a spectacular fireworks displayover the River Parrett.
Why Shop Local This Christmas?
When you buy from a small West Country business, you're helping a real person pay their bills, invest in their passion, and keep creative heritage alive. Every candle, card, or hand-knitted scarf you buy directly supports the local economy and helps communities thrive.
These festive markets are the perfect opportunity to skip the generic and shop with purpose — choosing gifts with heart and stories behind them.
